Emotion is what I hope to convey in my paintings. I want the viewer to feel something stronger than recognition of the figurative. I believe pure shape and color can express emotion and represent human memories to bring those emotions to us.

 I begin with an idea, making marks on paper or canvas, I keep going and watch to see where I can take it or where it wants to go. I will easily abandon my original idea if something happens in the process that excites me.  Experimentation with technique and style keeps me fresh and excited about my work.
